The Gandaberunda a popular symbol of hindu mythology is a two-headed bird, believed to possess immense magical strength and is capable of fighting the forces of destruction. Its heads resemble the eagle and tail is like that of a peacock.

In continuous usage for 500 yrs as a royal emblem, it has a special place in the history of Karnataka- first used on coins in Vijayanagar mints, it was the royal insignia of the Wodeyar dynasty of Mysore and is the state symbol today.

In this handcrafted necklace the Gandaberunda motif is seen on the small pendants crafted in Sterling Silver (92.5%), gold-dipped and interwoven into an elegant black thread. The ear studs replicate the unique design of the necklace, adding to the subtle design and beauty.
